Scour and Secure

To scour is twofold: the tireless walk along tide lines searching for the right, raw fragments, and the physical act of the sea scrubbing every surface clean until only the core survives. Set against textured windows of weathered sea-blue, a sun-bleached sand dollar and a worn, smooth shell rest firmly in place. They have been gathered from the relentless pounding of surf and salt, brought to safe harbor, and permanently secured. Here, the motion stops. Suspended over crisp, deliberate white canvas, these relics are no longer tossed by the chaotic drift of the water, but anchored—safe, sacred, and quieted at last.
